By purchasing any service from CalmTech IT Solutions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.

1 Parties to This Agreement

This agreement is between CalmTech IT Solutions (CalmTech IT Solutions, Sole Proprietor, Barrie, Ontario — "CalmTech") and the individual or business purchasing services ("Client").

2 Scope of Work

CalmTech will perform only services explicitly agreed upon. Any work beyond agreed scope requires written approval. All onsite bookings confirmed by phone prior to dispatch.

CalmTech will not attend a site without prior confirmation of scope, access, and applicable fees.

3 Data Loss & Backup Responsibility — CRITICAL

The Client is solely responsible for ensuring all data, files, and configurations are backed up prior to any IT service. This includes OS reinstalls, hardware repairs, server migrations, and M365 migrations.

CalmTech IT Solutions is NOT liable for data loss resulting from pre-existing hardware failures or conditions existing before CalmTech's involvement.

4 Limitation of Liability

CalmTech's total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific service. CalmTech is NOT liable for: loss of business revenue or profits; data loss from pre-existing failures; third-party software damage; consequential or indirect damages; power outages or environmental damage; ISP or cloud platform failures.

IT work inherently involves risk to existing systems. The Client accepts this risk by proceeding.

5 Hardware & Third-Party Software

All hardware and third-party software carry manufacturer warranties only. CalmTech is not responsible for manufacturer defects, firmware failures, or product recalls.

6 Payment Terms

All prices in CAD. Monthly plans billed via Stripe. Overdue invoices beyond 30 days incur 2%/month late fee. Services may be suspended on outstanding balances. Setup fees non-refundable once work begins.

Projects over $500 require 50% deposit before work begins. Balance due on completion.

7 Cancellation & Refunds

Monthly subscriptions: 30 days written notice to [email protected]. One-time bookings: full refund if cancelled 24+ hours prior. Within 24 hours: booking fee forfeited. No refund for services already rendered.

8 Client Responsibilities

Client agrees to: provide accurate system info; ensure access to premises and systems; complete data backups before service; disclose known hardware issues; not hold CalmTech responsible for pre-existing issues; provide a safe working environment.

9 Confidentiality

CalmTech keeps all Client business information, credentials, and configurations strictly confidential. All credentials shared with CalmTech are handled securely and deleted upon service completion.

10 Remote Access

Remote sessions conducted only with Client's explicit permission during agreed times. Client advised to change shared credentials after service. CalmTech is not responsible for breaches caused by Client-side vulnerabilities.

11 30-Day Workmanship Warranty

If the same issue recurs within 30 days due to CalmTech's work, it will be rectified at no charge. Warranty void if Client or third party modifies work without written approval.

12 Travel Fees & Onsite Policy

Zone 1 (0–25km): no fee. Zone 2 (25–50km): $49. Zone 3 (50–100km): $89. Travel fees non-refundable once dispatched. Minimum site visit fee of $75 if CalmTech cannot proceed due to Client-controlled factors.

13 Force Majeure

CalmTech not liable for delays caused by severe weather, power outages, government restrictions, public health emergencies, or third-party service failures.

14 Governing Law & Disputes

Governed by Ontario law. Disputes resolved by binding arbitration in Barrie, Ontario under the Arbitration Act of Ontario. Client waives right to class action lawsuits against CalmTech.

15 Amendments

CalmTech may update these Terms at any time. Active monthly plan clients notified 14 days before material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

CalmTech IT Solutions reserves the right to change, update, or adjust any service prices, hourly rates, plan inclusions, or fee structures at any time without prior notice. Price changes will be reflected on calmtech.ca and will apply to new bookings from the date of change. Existing monthly subscribers will be notified of any price changes via email at least 14 days before the new rate takes effect.

🚀 Getting Started
Start by booking a free 30-minute consultation using the Schedule button on this page. Thursday afternoons and Friday lunchtimes are available. During the consultation a CalmTech Tech Person will review your current IT setup, understand your needs, and recommend the right service or plan. There is no obligation or cost for the initial consultation.
After your purchase a CalmTech Tech Person will contact you within 1 business hour by phone or email to confirm your onboarding appointment. During the first onsite visit we will assess your systems, document your setup, and install secure remote connectivity software. From that point all routine support can be delivered remotely.
Both. The initial onboarding visit is in person to assess your infrastructure and set up remote access tools. After that most day-to-day support is handled remotely. Onsite visits are available when needed and travel fees apply based on your distance from Barrie.
🔧 Onboarding Process
A CalmTech Tech Person will examine your network, computers, servers, and IT infrastructure. They will document your setup, identify existing issues, and install secure remote support software on your devices. This allows CalmTech to assist you quickly in future without travelling to your location every time. The first visit typically takes 1–2 hours depending on the size of your setup.
CalmTech uses industry-standard secure remote connectivity tools. Remote sessions are only initiated with your explicit permission during agreed times. You can terminate any remote session at any time. All credentials shared with CalmTech are handled securely and deleted upon termination of service.
Yes. Remote sessions are encrypted and conducted only with your prior approval. CalmTech does not store, copy, or transmit your data during support sessions. Our full privacy policy is available at the bottom of this page.
📅 Scheduling & Support
Use the scheduling link at calmtech.ca to pick an available time slot. A CalmTech Tech Person will connect to your system remotely at the scheduled time. You can also call (289) 809-5776 or email support@calmtech.ca to arrange a session.
Each booking slot is for one task or issue only. If you have multiple items please book each as a separate time slot. This ensures each task gets the proper attention it needs. Attempting to cover multiple unrelated issues in one slot may result in some tasks being rescheduled.
CalmTech offers emergency after-hours support for critical business situations at a premium rate. To request emergency support call (289) 809-5776 directly. Active managed IT plan clients are prioritised for after-hours availability.
Please provide at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours forfeit the booking fee. You can reschedule using the same calendar link used for your original booking.
💳 Billing & Plans
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time by contacting support@calmtech.ca. Plan changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
No. All CalmTech managed IT plans are month-to-month. Cancel anytime with 30 days written notice to support@calmtech.ca. There are no cancellation fees for monthly plans.
All prices shown on the website are before applicable taxes. HST will be applied to invoices as required by Ontario law.
CalmTech accepts all major credit and debit cards through Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Monthly subscriptions are charged automatically. E-transfer and cheque may be arranged for larger project invoices.

CalmTech serves businesses and homes across Simcoe County including Barrie, Innisfil, Bradford, Angus, Orillia, Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, and Midland. Remote support is available province-wide across Ontario.
Minimum onsite charge: $99 in Zone 1, $149 in Zone 2, $199 in Zone 3. This covers the first 30 minutes of onsite work. Additional time billed at $175/hr.

CalmTech supports Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, Ubiquiti UniFi, NAS devices, printers, IP cameras, CCTV systems, and most standard business hardware and software.
Basic Mac support is available for connectivity, Microsoft 365, and general troubleshooting. We focus primarily on Windows and Windows Server environments.

Upon cancellation CalmTech will remove remote access software from your devices, delete any credentials held on your behalf, and return or destroy client documentation as requested. Your data remains yours at all times.
